I’m Dr. Yelena Gidenko, a brain health coach, PhD in psychology, and a mom to a competitive athlete.
For over 20 years, I’ve helped people understand how pressure affects the brain and how to respond in ways that actually help. This work became personal when I saw how competitive sports pressure was affecting families like mine.
Athletes were burning out. Parents felt stuck. Home life was stretched thin.
I do this because I’ve seen what happens when pressure goes unaddressed and what’s possible when families get the right tools. Everything I teach is grounded in how the brain actually works so athletes and parents can grow stronger together.
Helping athletes thrive without burning out and giving parents tools to support them isn’t just something I teach. It’s something I live. These are a few of the reflections families have shared:
“My daughter’s confidence is finally showing up on the field. But what surprised me most is how much calmer she is at home.”
— Mom of a 14-year-old soccer player
“This was the first time anyone explained what my son was going through in a way that actually made sense. And we got tools that helped.”
— Dad of teen swimmer
“He’s grown tremendously, not just in basketball but in focus and confidence too. He still brings up what he learned working with you and how much it helped.”
— Mom of a teen basketball player
